Unions and Worker Power

I'm a proud union member (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Union, NTEU 335). If elected, I'll work to strengthen the National Labor Relations Board, ban employers from writing off union-busting consultants as tax deductions, and guarantee a federal right to strike without retaliation. I'll defend collective bargaining in the public-sector and federal workforce, both of which are under direct attack from the Trump Administration. I’ll push to pass the PRO Act, which would protect workers from the anti-union laws that have rigged the playing field against them for decades.

Unions have always led to increased wages, improved working conditions, and more democratic workplaces.

Federal Employees

Maryland's 6th district is home to thousands of federal workers—civil servants at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Fort Detrick, the VA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and dozens of other agencies—who keep this country running. Trump and DOGE have spent the last year terrorizing them: illegal firings, frozen pay, gutted agencies, and threats to force career civil servants into political loyalty. 

I experienced this firsthand when Donald Trump fired me from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for standing up to DOGE.

In Congress, I'll not only fight to restore the agencies DOGE dismantled, but to also pass enforceable protections against any future attempt to gut our civil service. I'll defend federal workers’ rights to unionize and collectively bargain.
